Shirley and husband Donald Wesley White married in April 1959, and began their family in Edmonton, before moving to Spruce Grove in 1962, where they raised their son on Church Road. Shirley worked for McLeod Mercantile for many years, before taking her “retirement job” at Shoppers, where she spent 22 years making friends and greeting strangers with her fabulous ear to ear smiles. Never a day went by when Shirley wasn't put together with her beautiful red lipstick and perfect bouncy curls. She will be dearly missed and cherished forever.
In 2009 Shirley moved into the condos at Windsor Estates, the family have always said she resembled the Queen, and so she was perfectly at home there. Shirley made many new friends and spent many hours visiting with other residents.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Donald Wesley White in 2007. She is survived today by their only child, Bruce Donald (Cheri) White; her three granddaughters: Nicole (Cody) White Beaver, Shannon White and Kristen (Brandon) Leueberger; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Ariya and Declan; her sister, Marcia Toews; her brother, Gerald Whitmer (Diane) and many other extended family.
Her beautiful memory will live on. The White family welcomes all condolences in their time of grief and acceptance.
Inurnment will be announced in Spring 2022.
