

Owen Vincent Feeney, Jr., a lifelong North Rockland resident passed away at the age of 71 on February 25, 2013. Owen was born on March 16, 1941 to Mary Seagriff and Owen Vincent Feeney. Mary Seagriff Feeney worked in the town offices of Haverstraw under Phillip Rotella and Owen Feeney Sr. was a Budget Officer for Rockland and a Senior Administrative Assistant. Owen Feeney, Jr. graduated from Haverstraw High School in 1958, Boston College in 1962 and attended Montclair State University. He is survived by Rita (June) Feeney, his beloved wife of 44 years; his son Kevin Feeney and his wife Lori (Gold) of Washingtonville; son Michael Feeney and his wife Kerry (Cuffe) of Nanuet; his grandchildren who were the light of his life: Conor, Madison and Ryan. Owen was Manager of Marine Midland Bank in Stony Point and was a Business Teacher at North Rockland High School for over 30 years and was loved by all his students. After retiring as a teacher, he worked as a teaching assistant at Willow Grover Middle School where he was employed at the time of his passing. He coached Pop Warner Football, Stony Point Little League and CYO Basketball at Immaculate Conception Church. Owen was Past President and Treasurer of the North Rockland Father and Son Athletic Association, Member of the North Rockland Sports Hall of Fame Committee, served on the board of the North Rockland Federal Credit Union and was in the Army Reserves.
Family will receive visitors on Thursday from 7-9 pm and on Friday from 2-4 ad 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., Stony Point. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday at 10am at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
