Rose M. Jones

Rose M. Jones, a lifelong resident of North Rockland passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. The daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine Prestipino, Rose was born March 24, 1925 in Tomkins Cove, NY. She married the love of her life Charles L. Jones on June 1, 1941, who predeceased her in 1986. Rose loved cooking big meals for her family and friends and worked for many years for the North Rockland School District where she made many lifelong friends.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Donna Mann of Tomkins Cove; Kathy Jones of Monroe and Nancy (Frank) Allison of Cornwall; 3 granddaughters Melanie Mann, Carissa (Andreas) Radermacher and Alaina Allison; as well as 3 great grandchildren Tyler Hammer; Jake and Brooke Radermacher. Rose is also survived by her sisters Katherine Weatherwax and Josephine Grimes and her beloved brother Anthony who was always there to help her and her loving sister-in-law Nina Kwiecinski as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rose was predeceased by her sister Mary Mimmo and brothers Michele, Dominick and Ernest Prestipino and her sons-in-law Ronald Mann and Brian Chadwick.

The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers Alga Lewin and Maureen Forbes who extended her life by their loving care. The family would also like to thank the Stony Point Police Department and the Stony Point Ambulance for their service over the years and Wayne Hose F.D. who took such good care of her and our father over the years.

Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in Stony Point, NY on Sunday from 1-5pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place Monday 11:15am at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stony Point Ambulance Corps, 47 S. Liberty Drive, Stony Point, NY 10980.
