I found your Dad's obituary by mistake and was so sorry to read it.
I loved him - he was so jolly and happy when I spoke with him the few times I met him.

Dear Mrs. Baum,

We just returned from a five-week trip up north and we were so saddened to learn that your dear husband, Dr. Alan Baum, had passed away.

I had heard so much about him from my husband, Hal Evans, who used to work with him at the Elliott Museum and from my twin sister, Lois Farley, who is still a volunteer there. They
were both so very fond of him and have shared with me so many of the very nice talks that they each had with him.

Then, this past January, I became a volunteer at the museum, and I found out for myself that he was, indeed, a very nice, interesting, caring and special man.  Lois and I volunteer
together at the museum’s Front Desk and Gift Shop – and every Friday afternoon we looked forward to seeing and talking with Alan.  He truly made each afternoon extra special with
his presence and I will always remember the precious twinkle in his eyes.

Although, I only personally knew him for a very short period of time, he definitely left an indelible
impression on me and I feel very blessed for having known him. 

He was truly a fine gentleman and a very gentle man.  While it is so sad that he has passed away, we must thank God that he lived and that he touched the lives of so many people with all his goodness both as a Doctor and as man.  

Hal and I send our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you and to each member of his loving family.  We will continue to keep you all in our prayers and we send God’s blessings to you all.

I just received a phone call from my brother Tom, who informed me of Dr. Baums death that he had just read about in a New York paper.  Wow did that name bring back memories.  Dr Baum actually diagnosed me with Rheumatic Fever as a child and probable saved my life with a timely diagnosis.  He also helped by father with his cancer diagnosis.  We, my brothers and I, spent alot of time with good memories in the Baum household. A great family and alot of fun.  You are all in our hearts and I will let my Mom and my brother Bob know of this death. All my love,

I was very saddened to learn that Dr. Alan Baum passed away.  Alan and I became friends at the Eilliott Museum where we both worked for many years as volunteers on Friday afternoons.  He was very knowledgeable about many things and shared his love of cars in an amazing way with all who came to the Museum.  Alan was a very friendly, special, positive and good man.  He spoke so glowingly of his family and I always enjoyed hearing about the wonderful cruises that his family took together.  I feel blessed to have known Alan. May God rest his soul and may he continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.  My husband, Patrick, joins me in sending our heartfelt sympathy to Alan's wife, Cecelia, and to the entire Baum family.

Alan was the epitome of patience, love, and kindness. We were all so blessed to have him in our lives. My thoughts and prayers and love are with his family.
