Ambrose Edward Egan, 85, formerly of Hobe Sound, FL passed away peacefully March 11, 2015. He was a WWII veteran known for his dedication to his VFW Post, with a love of sailing, golf and tennis. A good friend said you always knew where you stood with Amby, good, bad or otherwise.
Born in Waterbury, CT June 30, 1929 to Ambrose G. and Margaret Yost Egan, he graduated Cheshire Academy in Waterbury and entered the Marine Corp.
He will leave a hole in the hearts of his daughters, Beth Ann Butler of Concord, NH and Paula Stack Stancin and her husband, Sam of Highland Park, IL. He will be missed by his dear friends, Eric and Nicholas Johnson of Stuart, FL and Homer Bennett and Peggy Tester of Singer Island, FL.
