

Dorothy R. Herr passed away peacefully at the age of 98, soon to celebrate her 99th birthday. Dorothy was born in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, the beloved daughter of Raymond Seiverling and Laura Doster Seiverling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Herr and her sister Ella Mae Behmer.
Dorothy spent the last 38 years of her life in Palm City, Florida, where she was a cherished presence in her community and among her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Marilyn Ice of Palm City, FL, and was preceded in death by Marilyn's husband, Joe Ice. She is also survived by her son, James Douglas Hummer of Mount Joy, PA, and her daughter, Sue Hummer Wilhelm and her husband Jack Wilhelm of Sarasota, FL. Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, J. Thomas Hummer.
Dorothy's legacy lives on in her loving grandchildren, Melanie Ice (Drew Dechnik) of Palm City, Fl.; Jennifer Ice Patterson (Deke Patterson) of Stuart, FL.; Joey Ice (Danielle Ice) of Stuart, FL.; Tom Ice (Kerry Ice) of Clinton Township, MI; Janelle West (Johnny West) of Mount Joy, PA.; and Jenny Price of Mount Joy, PA. and Elizabeth Hummer of Walla, WA. . She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lori Anne Ice. Dorothy's great-grandchildren - Jeremy and Josh Patterson, Elizabeth Jane Ice, Ashley Patterson, Daimyen and Ellianna West, Rory, Mariah and Madelyn - brought her much joy, and she was blessed to know her great-great-grandchild, Amiyah Patterson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy will be remembered for her unwaivering love for her family, her gentle spirit and her quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to those her loved. Her family will forever cherish her memory and the many lives she touched throughout her long and beautiful life.
A private service will be held by the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice in Dorothy's name."
