Douglas J. Usher, age 63, passed away on December 29, 2025. Douglas was born on August 15, 1962 in Dobbs Ferry, NY to George and Helen Usher. Shortly after graduating from Hastings-on-Hudson High School in 1980, he began his apprenticeship with Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 38. He served for 40 years and 10 months as a Commercial Sheet Metal Journeyman before retiring from ABM Air Conditioning & Heating in 2020. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Hobe Sound, Florida.
Doug was so full of life. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He loved betting on horse races, watching professional bull riding, and lived to ride both of his Harley Davidson motorcycles: his ‘98 Road King Classic and his ‘12 Street Glide.
He is survived by his daughter Savannah (Paul), and his son Tanner (Megan); his three granddaughters (Lorraine, Rikki, and Shannon); his siblings Cheryl (Joe), George (Lynnette), Maryellen, and Kathleen; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother-in-law Phillip and niece Shannon Marie.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday March 28, 2026, at 11:30am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY
