Hester A. Meehan

Mrs. Meehan was born in Brooklyn, New York, and had previously lived in Largo, Florida for thirty-five years before relocating to the Stuart area six months ago.

She was a bookkeeper and had worked for Double Day Publishing for thirty years in Garden, City, New York.

Mrs. Meehan was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna in Clearwater, Florida, as well as a member of the Women’s Guild.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Welles of Washington Depot, CT; daughter, Kathleen Wehr of Stuart, FL; son, James E. Meehan, Jr. (Diane) of Palm City, FL; brother, Richard J. Cantwell of Oceanside, NY; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Mrs. Meehan was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, James E. Meehan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart, Florida. A graveside service will be held on April 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo, Florida.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Meehan’s honor to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
