Iris Elaine Kwek, 91, of Stuart, passed away January 24, 2015 at Martin Medical Center in Stuart. Iris was born May 3, 1923 in Lisbon, OH and was the daughter of Jay Sheridan and Florence Burnett. She retired from the state of Michigan as a social worker. She had received her Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and her Master’s degree from University of Michigan. Iris was a member of the Methodist faith and had been a member of the Hobe Sound Port Salerno Rotary Club. She was an advocate of the Salvation Army and volunteered as a bell ringer. She supported Mike the Bike Man and his efforts to provide bicycles to youths in the community. Iris is survived by her cousin, Patricia Manhire of Hobe Sound. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert and her sister, Virginia. Calling hours will be 2 -4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Aycock Funeral Home Young & Prill Chapel in Stuart. Funeral Service will be 11 AM, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
