Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Darlyne, 3 adult children; Linda DeSanti (husband Leonard), Steve Ford (wife Tara) and Bill Ford (wife Diane), 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Jim was born in Cookville, TN and moved to West Palm Beach at a young age attending Conniston Junior High School and Palm Beach High. After high school, he joined the Navy for 4 years on a Naval Destroyer Escort. He met his wife Darlyne on a blind date on July 4, 1949, they fell in love and were married on April 27, 1952.
After the Navy, Jim became a Union Electrician working for Hime Electric company and later for Pratt & Whitney. He and Darlyne retired to Fort White, Fl and enjoyed the outdoors and friends within their community. In his early days, he enjoyed square dancing, fishing and scuba diving and camping. In retirement, he enjoyed tubing down the river and golf cart rides with their dog “Bandit”.
A man of many talents, he was a hard worker and loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
