Born in Waltham, Massachusetts on April 25, 1931, Jane was the cherished daughter of the late Dorothy and Earl Tibbetts.
Jane was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a joyful great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was embracing each of these roles with her whole heart. Witty and unfiltered, Jane brought laughter and light wherever she went. She spoke her mind with courage, loved deeply, and lived boldly.
Jane had a passion for travel and adventure—never meeting a stranger, always making a friend. A true lover of all things Disney, she delighted in the magic of life and shared that wonder with those around her. To her family, she was affectionately known as “Yaya” or “Gram”—a beloved matriarch whose love leaves an irreplaceable mark on our hearts.
Jane is preceded in death by her first husband of 44 ½ years, Bob Wolfenden; her brother, Richard Tibbetts; and her sister, Norma McGinnis.
She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Linda Polselli, Debi Wolfenden, and Bob Wolfenden; her second husband of 26 years, Charles Armstrong; her grandchildren: Danielle, Kendra, Breana, Brittany, Corey, Bryce, Westin, and Login; and her great-grandchildren: Nathan, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Emily, Arjen, William, Lindsey, Leighann, Michael, Emma, Avery, Bennett, Luke, Rita, and Penny.
A small, private service will be held in Acton, Massachusetts for close family and friends to celebrate Jane’s beautiful life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jane’s honor to her favorite charitable organization, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
