Jean was born to Donald Gifford Van de Water and Margureite (Stickle) Van de Water Nov. 30 1928 on Long Island, NY. The family moved to Stuart, Florida in 1938. Jean Graduated from Stuart High School and began working at the old Martin County Court House as a bookkeeper.
Jean Elizabeth and Isaac Matthew Elkins Jr. married in 1948. They were married 68 years before Isaac died in 2016. From this union they raised 4 children. Carol Ann Green, Judith Elizabeth Woods, Isaac Edward Elkins and William Leonard Elkins. Jean is predeceased by her husband and her two sons. She is survived by her daughters, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
During Jean’s long life she was always involved in artistic creations. Painting, ceramics, pottery, and sculpting were some of her many interests.
Using her bookkeeping skills, Jean was Isaac’s helpmate through life.
