He was a loving and dedicated husband to Josephine (pre-deceased) for 51 years, loved by his son Louis and his wife Michele Daleo-Cuomo, daughter Elizabeth Cuomo-Natoli, and her husband Anthony Natoli. Grandfather to Joseph Paul, and John Louis.
Joseph immigrated to the United States in 1954 and started his own Italian delicatessen along with his brother-in-law Luigi Cuomo, then later John Cuomo. His father-in-law, Antonio, also was part of the business and ran the fruit and vegetable department. Joseph used his prior family business skills from his family roots in Vico Equense, Italy in order to run one of the best-known establishments in the North Jersey area, “Cuomo & Sons”. He retired after 30 years with his spouse Josephine, and then moved to Hobe Sound in 2004.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound, Florida on Sunday September 23rd at 2:00 PM, with his burial immediately following at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta.
