She was surrounded by love, her hands held by her family who will cherish her memory and legacy forever more.
The love of June’s life, Lloyd H. Noack, passed away on April 20, 2023. June was born in Grafton, ND, on June 29, 1930, to Morris and Borghild O’Connell. She is survived by her sisters, Janice O’Connell (Pueblo, CO), and Judith (Jim) O’Connell, (Mead, WA), and brother, Richard (Jackie) O’Connell, (Las Cruces, NM). She was preceded in death by her two brothers, “Sonny” Morris O’Connell and Darrell O’Connell.
June was a proud, loving, and dedicated mother to her four children. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Jim) Bush (Indiantown, FL) and Patti Hendrix (Bill McGuinty) (Fort Collins, CO). Sadly, her daughter Vicki Berndt (Jerry) (Pine River, MN) and son Doug Wolenetz (Denver, CO) passed before her. June was also a stepmother to Lloyd’s children, Matt Noack (Tamara) (Scottsdale, AZ) and Kelly Noack (Fargo, ND).
Her grandchildren- Rick Litzinger (Kristin) (Grand Forks, ND), Dusty Litzinger (Adria) (Devils Lake, ND), and Katie Bush (Josh Littell) (Palm Beach Gardens, FL)- adored and appreciated her, as did her beloved great-grandchildren: Reese Litzinger, Ryder Litzinger, Roegan Litzinger, Radley Litzinger, and Amara Littell, who were her radiant joy.
After marrying Delano Wolenetz in Livingston, MT, June eventually moved to Grand Forks, ND with her children. Following a career at Griffith’s department store, she became one of the first female Trust Officers at 1st National Bank, a role she held with immense dignity for over 30 years. A half-page feature in the Grand Forks Herald once showcased her dedication, highlighting the way she took a personal interest in each client. To June, they were never just a number, and she constantly went out of her way to help them. She carried the framed article with pride throughout her life.
June was a riot with a legendary sense of humor; she was the only one who could pull a prank and keep a straight face. She was full of life, sarcasm, wit, and constantly had everyone laughing. Her beloved hobbies included baking, embroidering, gardening, reminiscing, staying active and part of the party, but most of all, her quality time with her family and loved ones. She also shared an enthusiasm for good music, spanning from Elvis, Michael Jackson, and The Gaither Vocal Band to Jethro Tull (especially when Ian Anderson lifted his foot to play the flute).
June will be profoundly missed by our family as well as any of the fortunate people whose lives she touched. She enriched our lives and lived a full and meaningful life. We are so grateful for the time we shared with her and all that she taught us. She was a strong minded and resilient woman who loved deeply. Our wish is for June to rest in peace and be again in the loving company of those who went before her.
