Dear sweet Lura, how I’m going to miss you! We have been besties for 54 years since. You moved in next door to me and brought me a cake. I had just got home from the hospital from having my baby. We clicked instantly! Why? We nothing alike but from that point on we were friends. You were my sister and taught me many thing about cooking, sewing, tolerance and patience. You were eight years older than me and knew so much about all of the above. Over the years distance separated us but we still connected by phone. We shared our thoughts, ups and downs and all the frustrations and happiness that women have. When we feeling lonely we were just a phone call away and we would talk and laugh until we were better. We had some great times visiting back and forth over the years. You were so sweet and gentle and the greatest cook and seamstress ever and then you decided to sell RealEstate and was was successful at that too. I admired you for working so hard and taking care of yourself and kids after Dewey died, you held it together. That soft, blond Southern Belle was actually a Steele Magnolia.
Those four days I spent with you the first of March will always be precious to me. We both knew that would be our last visit. So go rest high on that mountain in Deweys arms where you always belonged.
Sure gonna miss you Lura Lee

My Dear, Beautiful Mother!
I can not even begin to express how much I’m grieving, but my one solace is knowing that you are with Our Lord Jesus and my Daddy! I have been so fortunate to have had the best Mom a girl could ever hope to have, and I have always strived to follow in your footsteps and will continue to do so; however, you left huge shoes to fill! What a loving Mother and Nana you were and I have been inundated with loving words from all that you touched. I so loved that you were the epitome of a Southern Belle from your wonderful cooking to your charm and to the fact that you were always so put together from head to toe, even if you were hanging out at home! I will so miss our sleepovers and movie nights, but most of all I will forever miss that sweet, sweet smile and just hearing your soft voice. Goodbye for now until I’m with you and Daddy again forever. With all my love forever, Your Baby Girl!

My Nana,

We all had such wonderful memories with you! I am beyond blessed to have you apart of my life for so long: I know you will still be with us, I’ll hold you forever in my heart. I have way to many amazing memories with you but My favorite memory will have to be making the Christmas chocolates with you and Kelsey. We would sleepover you house and have our Hot chocolate and your favorite Elvis Presley Christmas music would be playing. Kelsey and i will hold on to this tradition with the kids! Miss you so very much Nana!

I met Lura about seven years ago when she transitioned to the Keyes Company. From the moment I met her I got the sense that she is a kind and generous woman, a characteristic I have heard from everyone at my office who knew her. She touched many lives and influenced many with her sweet disposition and solid work ethics in the real estate industry. We will certainly miss her. I pray for her family and friends that they all may be comforted by the blessing of her long life and her dignified way of life.
