Margaret “Margie” Mary Pianki (previously Corbière by marriage), 72, of Jupiter, FL, passed away on January 4, 2025. Margaret was a beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She was known for her sense of humor, compassion and selflessness.
Margaret was born on June 27, 1952, to Frank and Helen Pianki in Flushing, Queens, NY. After graduating from Hamden High School in 1970, she studied English at Central Connecticut State University and later earned a Master’s in English from Southern Connecticut State University.
Following her undergraduate studies, she married and served for a year as a missionary in Cartagena, Colombia, where her first child was born. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and never wavered in her faith. Through all of life’s trials, God was faithful. Margaret had four children: Catherine, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Thomas. She dedicated many years to raising her children. Later, she began substitute teaching in their local school district in Milford, CT, before becoming a Spanish teacher at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, CT. In later years, she worked for several companies, ultimately becoming a Senior Recruiter for People Scout. She was an avid reader, and loved creative writing, puzzles, card games, hiking, quilting, and watching British television mysteries. She retired in 2020 and spent her remaining years traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Helen Pianki, and her grandson, Alexander West (24). She is survived by her four younger brothers and their families who brought her tremendous joy and comfort: Frank (Kathy), David (Lauren), John (Debbie) and Jim (Karen) Pianki. She is also survived by her four children and 22 of her 23 grandchildren: her daughter Catherine Gilmore and her husband, William Gilmore, and their seven children: Noah, Helena, Leah, Markus, Elsa, Cate, and Irena; her daughter Caroline Moon and her husband, Kevin Moon, and their six children: Elijah, Elita, Campbell, Clare, Hudson, and Hazel; her daughter Elizabeth West and her husband, Gabriel West, and five of their six children: Layne Clark, Daphne, Henry, Helen, and Maeve Opal; and her son, Thomas Corbière, and his wife, Nicole Corbière, and their four children: Angeline, John, Alexander, and Samson.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7
