

Marlyn Samples Hatten was born on July 13, 1937, in Cullman, Alabama. Marlyn and her family moved to Miami, Florida in 1951. She graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1955. Marlyn went back to school ten years later, with five children and a husband, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in June, 1971. She was married to her husband, George Hatten, for more than 66 years. George and Marlyn were married on August 14, 1955, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Miami, Florida. The Lord blessed them with five loving children (Michael, Joseph, Louis, Lorraine, and Anthony). Marlyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Marlyn was a great cook and specialized in Southern, Syrian, and Italian cuisines. Marlyn loved to read and loved to attend to her garden and plants.
Marlyn Hatten is survived by her husband, George Hatten of Stuart, Florida and five children Michael (Wife Karen), Joseph, Louis, Lorraine (Husband Fausto), and Anthony.
In addition, Marlyn has ten grandchildren, Fausto Barrionuevo, Caroline Hatten, Marlene Kay Barrionuevo, Heather Hatten, Matthew Hatten, Tiffany Bates Kintner, Kourtney Hatten, Justin Hatten, Kaitlyn Isaacson, Brooke Hatten and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Sadie, and Layla.
Marlyn was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Martin Samples and Dovie Stewart Samples and sisters Shirley Samples Nickerson, Claudie Samples Papineau, and brother Harold Samples.
A service will be held on February 14, 2022 at 11:00 am at Aycock Funeral Home, Young and Prill Chapel located at 6801 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, Florida 34994.
Burial Service will be at Fernhill Gardens at 1501 S Kanner Hwy, Stuart, Florida 34994. Burial Service will start at 3:00 PM on February 14, 2022.
