She is survived by Arnold Gunderson, her loving husband of 47 years, son, Erik (Becky) Gunderson, mother, Cesira Slawson (Barbieri), and sister, Bernadette (Tim) McShane. She is further survived by numerous cousins, aunts, nieces, and nephews all of whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her father, Chester G. Slawson.
Her passions in life included fine art, arts and crafts, classical music, cooking world-wide cuisine especially Italian, history and reading. She and Arnold lived in many places around the US, as well as in Germany and experienced the world as much as possible. All who knew her will miss her sharp wit, and senses of beauty and humor.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 5:00PM-7:30PM at Aycock Funeral Home, 6801 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, FL 34997. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to either Huntington’s Disease Society of America (www.hdsa.org) or the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
