He was born in Heidelberg, Germany where his father was serving in the United States Navy. Mike grew up in Missouri and moved to Florida in 1978.
He was a devoted husband to his wife of 34 years, Cynthia Elkins Smith and had three children, Matthew Stuart, Joseph Michael and Carrie Coppola. He is also survived by his mother Donna Smith, his brother Ronald Smith, and his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brianna.
Mike was predeceased by his father, Charles Stuart Smith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 10:00am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am at Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart, Florida.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s name to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34994.
