Patrick Klempert passed away at home surrounded by family on February 8, 2024 after a battle with a rare bone marrow and blood cancer. Although he was born October 29, 1949, in St. Louis, Pat called Stuart home for 54 years. As a contractor at his construction business, K&M Forming, he was proud of every project he worked on and how his buildings contributed to the beauty and charm of Martin County.
Pat was known for his ability to tell a story and his arsenal of trivia on everything from Motown to obscure history. Most mornings you could find him enjoying breakfast at Sammy J’s, shooting the breeze with other regulars and the staff. He was an avid sports fan who lived for the Miami Dolphins and traveled the country to see his beloved St. Louis Cardinals play. Pat loved getting books from the library, even if he often checked out the same book and it took a few hundred pages to realize he’d already read it.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Sophie and Lawerence Klempert; brother, Mike Klempert; and sisters Jane Clarke, Susan Self, and Kathryn Kelley. He is survived by his three daughters, Laura Powell, Kristen Klempert, and Allison Klempert; his former wife and friend, Ellen Klempert; and his sister Laura McBride; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of the Aycock Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Treasure Coast Hospice in thanks for the excellent care they gave to Pat in his final days.
