Richard Allen “Lumpy” Miller passed away November 17, 2025, in Stuart, FL after an extended illness. He was born in Sheboygan, WI September 15, 1955 (but lived and grew up in Random Lake, WI) to Lawrence George Miller and Lois Marie Nowack. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Suzanne and a brother Thomas “Tom” John Miller. He is survived by a brother Steven “Steve” Miller, a sister-in-law Cheryl “Sherry” as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lumpy moved to Delray Beach, FL in 1980 and has resided in Stuart, FL since the year 2000. He came to Florida originally to work as a green bean farmer but soon became a tree farmer and worked in Pahokee, FL for several decades where he earned the respect and admiration of all who met and worked with him. He was fortunate to have a boss who was also his best friend for over a decade, Ben Magrill of Stuart, FL.
Those who knew him well only called him Lumpy, his nickname since high school, and all those who knew him loved him.
In 1981 Lumpy met Pamela “Pam” Tubbs and began a forty-five-year loving and inseparable relationship. Pam’s children Tracey Tubbs Piccone and James “Rim” Tubbs were his children by default from 1981 until the day he died, and he loved them as though they were his own. Randolph “Randy” Tubbs, Rim’s son, was his only grandson, who he was very proud of and loved so very much.
The family will hold a private memorial. Donations in Lumpy’s memory can be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, FL or to

Rest in peace Lumpy our lives will never be the same without you.
Pam, Tracey, Rim and Randy
“Do you know how much I love you?
I ask my life-long mate
The sweet look of understanding
Sharing love has been our fate.
Do you read the silent message
That I send from my heart?
Do you know without my saying
What I’m feeling in my heart?”
