Born in Akron, Ohio, he moved to Hobe Sound in 1994 coming from Jupiter; prior to that, he had resided in Akron.
He was a retired insurance salesman.
Russell served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 271 in Tequesta.
Survivors include his companion of 28 years, Waletta “Dottie” Falkenstein; sons, Blake Snyder of Palm Beach Gardens and Keith Snyder of Highlands Ranch, CO; sisters, Sally and Linda; and five grandchildren, Breuklen, Cooper, Alexa, Lauren and Carson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ada Snyder and daughter, Christy Gossett.
