

Sam was born and raised Brooklyn, New York to the late Anthony and Bridget Kopelakis nee Pendalino. He has been a resident of Florida since 1973. He resided in Miami until the mid 1980’s before settling on The Treasure Coast and moving to Port St. Lucie, Florida. Sam owned and operated SK Hauling Company. He was a hard worker and always lending a helping hand to whomever was in need of one. He was known for his generosity, always giving to others. Sam cherished the time he was able to spend with his family.
Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Kopelakis.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Kopelakis; sons, Thomas Kopelakis (Celia), of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Paul Kopelakis, of New Jersey; daughter, Donna Marie McGee (Jerry), of Port St. Lucie; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; along with brothers, John, Luke, and Thomas Kopelakis.
A visitation will take place on Thursday March 2, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a vigil service at 7 pm at Aycock Funeral Home, 505 S Federal Hwy., Stuart, Florida 34994. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday March 3, 2017 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie with Committal to follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery.
