

Stephen Stone holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Fine Arts and Photography from the School of Visual Arts.
Upon graduating from SVA, Stone worked in commercial photography while continuing to paint and becoming involved in the NYC pop art scene as a collector and participant in Andy Warhol's Factory scene.

Being a Formula 1 fan since age 13, Stone never missed a televised race and attended numerous races in many cities in the USA and abroad.
Moving to San Francisco, Stone's work evolved with the 1969- Summer of Love and the burgeoning hippie movement- creating light shows for seminal rock groups such as the Jefferson Airplane, shooting poster photography. He also apprenticing with renowned tattoo and fine artist, Don Ed Hardy. The association with Hardy, led Stone to open a series of his own tattoo shops where his custom designs and medical tattooing were recognized for their unique and rich creativity.
Returning to New York City, he married Bosha Johnson Stone then continued with his art and focused on building a career in marketing followed by commodity trading. Enjoying significant success in commodity trading, Stone was able to resume his creative endeavors, painting large minimalist and abstract canvases.
Taking up residency in Florida in 2005, Stone's ART has been shown in major galleries in South Florida including The Mark Fine Art Gallery , Boca Raton Museum , Backus Museum , Armory Art Center, The Arts Council Cultural Center Gallery and at THE COMMONS Festival of Trees and "It's All Over ...ART 2012" Art Events. Most recently his Tattoo art "Flash" appeared in "TATTOO the Renaissance of Body ART" along side with Ed Hardy's current artworks, at the Lighthouse Art Center" in Florida.
Stone was a Fishing enthusiast, Fly Fishing in North and South America and Sport Fishing on the east coast in NYC and the Florida Keys. The Grand Slam was always the prize.
Stone produced and directed his original adaptation of the work of poet and writer Charles Bukowski."The Gut Retrenching Machine" is a 15 minute short, filmed in Florida.
Stone collaborated and wrote an original treatment "Murphy's Law" about the African American pool player Cisero Murphy, which is currently in consideration for a movie.
Most recently Stone's Abstract Photography was accepted by FRAMES Magazine to appear in their issue and was asked to be a featured Artist on their FRAMES Photography Podcast, but had to decline.
Regarding his paintings, Stone remarked, "My work comes from deep within-inspired by moods, nature and images I have from my life experiences. Each canvas has special meaning for me and hopefully, through my work, I am able to share my unique and remarkable life with others."

On January 28th 2024 he took his last breath on this earth.
