OBITUARIO

Terri Ann Northup-Polpuch

6 febrero , 195319 junio , 2021

Terri was born February 6, 1953 in what was then known as the EJ Noble Hospital, now known as River Hospital, to Jane Mance Heath and Cyril Heath. She passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice in Stuart, FL on June 19, 2021 after a short illness. Her father, Cyril Heath predeceased Terri’s birth.

While born in Alexandria Bay Terri lived in many places during her life. Her mother Jane married another Alexandria Bay resident, Bill Northup, when Terri was a young child. Bill became Terri’s Dad and as Bill was in the Navy Terri lived in several states including Virginia, Florida, Texas and New Jersey as the Navy assigned Bill to various bases. As an adult Terri spent most of her life in Florida.

Terri loved animals but due to childhood asthma was unable to have any pets when she was young. Her allergies to animals improved as she got older and she became well loved by all the animals in her neighborhood. They could tell a sucker a mile away!

She also loved to travel and was able to indulge that passion by visiting several exotic destinations such as Thailand, the Amazon and Peru. None of those boring, ordinary travel itineraries for her.

Books were something that Terri devoured and would love to debate the plot with you. More often than not you would find her with her nose in a book or at the very least carrying one with her to read later.

Most of her life she worked in the service industry. She enjoyed working with and talking to people, learning about their lives and viewpoints. Since she was so well read she was able to converse on many different topics to all different types of people.

Terri is survived by her mother, Jane Northup of Florida, as well as siblings Maggie Northup (Florida), Bill Northup (Florida), Lizzie Mari (Florida), Kathi Sanford (New York), Nisa Fisher (Georgia), and Dail Earl (New York) as well as 14 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews. Her dad, Bill Northup, died before her in October 2020.

Burial will be at the Barnes Settlement Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held at the Alexandria Bay Community room on 7/17/21 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
