William was born in Baldwin Long Island, New York and had previously lived in Manchester, VT before relocating to the South Florida area 24 years ago.
He was a Detective Sergeant and had worked for the Nassau County Police Department in New York for 30 years.
William was a member of the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association, the Superior Officers Association, and the Detectives Association.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and had served our country in World War II.
William is survived by his daughter, Lisa J. Hough of Jensen Beach, FL; son, Thomas Golden of New York; son, Steven Golden of Vermont; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
William was predeceased by his wife, Lillian.
Inurnment will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, Florida.
