Bonnie Lou Reed

Born July 25, 1941 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Weldon and Sadie Brown Miller Floyd.

Bonnie was a graduate of the Wilson Memorial High School-Kings Daughters Hospital School of Practical Nursing Class of 1959. She loved nursing and caring for people. She retired at the age of 78 with a career that spanned 60 years. She had provided care for KDH, Staunton Eye Clinic, Loyalton Assisted Living, Stuarts Draft Christian Home and Summit Square. Bonnie was a lifetime member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft. She loved her church family and looked forward to going to church as often as possible. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. She had many friends and relatives whom she loved, and they loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Billie Lorene Floyd Evans, Betty Jane Floyd Johnson (Paul), Geraldine Ann Miller Bedall (Wilbur), Alice Jean Miller Hamilton Shomaker (Roger); her dearest friend and longtime companion, Richard Lucas; and brother-in-law, William H. Argenbright.

Survivors include her sisters, Kay Roberta Miller Argenbright and Janet Fay Floyd Weller (Gene); sons, Anthony Neal Reed (Robin), Mark Weldon Reed (Dennise Paule); grandchildren, Erin Marie Reed Gillispie (Dustin), Keith Calvin Reed (Emily), Tucker Craig, Derek Alford (Renae), and Robert Isaacson (Taylor); beloved cat, Woody; daughters-in-love, Rhonda Lucas Donald (Bruce) and Kimberly Lucas Berry (Barth); and great-grandchildren, Lydia, Ainsley, and Adelyn Reed.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor David Vaughan officiating. Burial will be private.
