Elizabeth Ann Brooks

Elizabeth Ann Carroll Brooks, 93 of Stuarts Draft, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Augusta Health. Born in Augusta County on December 10, 1921, a daughter of the late, Benjamin Mosby and Sarah Catherine Carroll.

Elizabeth was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford R. Brooks; a son, Crawford A. Brooks; two grandchildren, Dewayne Brooks and Nina Burley. Elizabeth was the last surviving child of the Carroll Family. Survivors include her two sons, Charles Brooks and his wife, Wanda and Donald Brooks, and his wife Eva both of Waynesboro; two daughters, Jean Johnson of Ruckersville and Barbara Baber of Stuarts Draft; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Waynesboro Free Methodist Church, 600 Hopeman Pkwy, Waynesboro, VA 22980, with her great grandson, Ethan Colvin officiating. Burial to follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes in Waynesboro.

Family will also receive friends at Elizabeth’s residence.

Active Pallbearers will be William “ P.J.” Campbell, Jerry Stogdale, Bobby Morris, Timmy Fitzgerald Robert Wright, and David Fitzgerald. Honorary Pallbearers will be great grandchildren.
