

He was born on Sept. 17, 1933, on Muddy Creek, Mt., Alderson , WV; son of the late Alexander Taylor Arbaugh Sr. and Amanda Susan Ballengee Arbaugh of Alderson. Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Clara Belle Anderson of Lewisburg, WV, Robert Arbaugh, Marion Arbaugh, and Alexander Arbaugh Jr. all of Waynesboro.
After playing four years of high school football for the legendary coach Abe McLaughlin, he graduated from Alderson High with the class of 1952, he went on to marry his high school sweetheart in 1953, and then entered the armed forces. Arbaugh, was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and the Army Reserve from 1956-1961. Finally settling in Waynesboro, he gave thirty three years of service to DuPont.
When Paul wasn’t found at home cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers, he could be found many nights at either Eastside Speedway or Stuarts Draft High School enjoying what he loved most, football and racing. He was a former member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, and a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Stuarts Draft.
Survivors include his wife Venecia Elmore Arbaugh of Stuarts Draft, his brother Clarence “Harold” Arbaugh of Freemont, NE, his sister Lorene Huffman of Hinton, WV; his son Richard “Dicky” Arbaugh, and two grandchildren Jacob and Sarah Arbaugh, all of Staunton.
Honorary Pallbearers are his DuPont co-workers and his fellow racing group, Mark Tyree, Tom Goforth, Bobby Arbaugh, Rusty Arbaugh, Mike Armentrout , and Roger Welcher.

A graveside service will conducted at 2:00 p.m. at Augusta Memorial Park on Thursday October 23, 2014 with Rev. Nancy Vaughan officiating.
Family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes Stuarts Draft Chapel, 1870 Stuarts Draft Hwy.
