Ethel Jane "Janie" Ulrey

Born May 30, 1934 in Columbia, SC she was the daughter of the late Willie Robert and Pearl Ethel (Massengill) Smith.

Ms. Ulrey was a member of Rejoicing Life Church. Ethel was employed by Alcoa until her retirement. She found great joy in staying active, working, enjoying the company of others and most importantly attending family reunions.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Summerford and Virginia Smith; step-daughter, Wanda Ulrey.

Survivors include her loving children and grandchildren, Rodney Ulrey and wife, Paulette and their children, Colton and Cody, Debbie Lowery and husband, Louie and their children, Paula Conner and Clara Buchanan, Denise Ulrey, Deborah Butler and husband, Bart and their children, Josh and Bart Jr. and Kathy Norford and husband, Todd and their children, Eli and Gage; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Billy Smith and wife, Patsy, Bobby Smith, Wilford Smith and wife, Elizabeth, Jimmy Smith and wife, Mary Ann and Irene Drury and husband, George; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Rejoicing Life Church with Pastor Mike Lawson officiating.
