Gary Ray Underwood

Born December 20, 1960 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Grady Ray Underwood and Ann Underwood Shirley.

Gary was a faithful member of Springdale Mennonite Church. He was a devoted employee of Western State where he worked as an aide.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rebecca (Deshotel) Underwood of Stuarts Draft; children, Daniel Underwood of Stuarts Draft, Jacob Underwood of Elkton and Martha Underwood of Stuarts Draft; brother and sister-in-law, Lowell and Jenny Underwood of Afton; sister and brother-in-law, Ami and Paul Allen of Sherando; sister, Kelly Coffey of North Carolina; nieces and nephew; step-father, Butch Shirley of Sherando; special cousin, Ramona Gordon; as well as his wonderful church family of Springdale Mennonite Church and coworkers at Western State Hospital.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Springdale Mennonite Church with Pastor Kevin Goertzen officiating. Burial will be private.
