

She was born in Sontag, VA (Franklin Co.), February 21, 1923 to the late Roland Bays Morris and Ardina Frances McBride Morris. After her mother’s passing, she was raised by her step-mother, Mary Alice Morris.
Helen excelled as a homemaker. She was an active member of Mt. View Mennonite Church. Helen taught Sunday School for many years, and she and her husband, Hershel, were youth leaders. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, crossword puzzles, and she made over 700 “Charge Account” grids. She was an amazing cook. Helen read the Bible through many times and encouraged Bible memorization.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Hershel L. Bridge; brother, Carl R. Morris; sister, Alice Ann Glaude; and a grandson, David Lee Nice.
She is survived by two sons, Clinton D. and wife Susie Bridge of Lyndhurst, Stephen N. Bridge of Lyndhurst and former wife, Amie of Stuarts Draft, two daughters, Brenda B. and husband Dave Nice of Stuarts Draft, and Esther B. and husband Luke Campbell of Stuarts Draft; a sister, Patricia M. Weaver of Stuarts Draft; a brother, Ivor B. Morris and wife Judy of Camdenton, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Melissa Miller, Spencer Nice and wife Melissa, Neil Bridge and wife Sherry, Rodney Nice and wife Lindsey, Heather Campbell, Bridgett Tsepas and husband Evan, Jessica Chittams and husband R.J., Torri Render and husband Demetris; fourteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mt. View Building Fund, % Doug Harris, Treasurer, 68 Lake Road, Stuarts Draft.
A private family burial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 11, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Mt. View Mennonite Church. Officiating will be Pastor Earl Monroe and Rodney Nice, Grandson. There will be no public viewing at her request.
Everyone is welcome to stay for a meal following the service to visit with family.
