John Wayne Chandler

Born February 25, 1966 in Virginia, he was the son of the late Roscoe B. and Helen G. (Rasnick) Chandler.

John was employed by Hershey Chocolate of Virginia, Stuarts Draft. As an avid outdoorsman, he greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved spending time with his family and smoking different kinds of meats on his smoker. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.

Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Judy (Shade) Chandler of Stuarts Draft; two daughters, Amber Morris and husband, Melvin of Bridgewater and Keely Davis of Stuarts Draft; three grandchildren, Keegan Davis, Kinslee Morris, and Mayzee Gillispie; sister, Patricia Cubbage of Glenvar, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Oaklawn Mausoleum & Memory Gardens, 1921 Shutterlee Mill Road, Staunton with Pastor Dave Kite officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Melvin Morris, Randy McDonaldson, Keegan Davis, Matthew Vance, Melvin Morris, Sr., and Tyler Serrett.
