Born November 21, 1957 in Staunton, he was a son of the late Shirley M. and Sara (Althouse) Norcross. On August 14, 1976 he married the love of his life, Ellen Kelso. The two shared 48 wonderful years of marriage.
Steve was employed by Pactiv in Grottoes where he was a faithful employee for many years. He was a member of Bridge Christian Church, Fishersville. Steve adored his wife, Ellen. She was his best friend and he took great pride in caring for her as she was his world. He enjoyed shopping trips with her, fishing trips with his children and grandchildren, listening to country and classic rock music, being outdoors, and time spent landscaping his yard. He was a devoted husband, proud father and loving grandfather. Those who knew him best will remember his beautiful smile and zest for life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John L. Kelso, Sr.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ellen K. Norcross of Stuarts Draft; three children, Tracy Imler and husband, Craig, of Stuarts Draft, David Norcross and wife, Katie, of Apex, NC, and Laura Miller and husband, Matt, of Stuarts Draft; 10 grandchildren, Ivy Miller, Neva Miller, Adelie Miller, Matthew Miller, Taylor Huffman, Allison Huffman, Daniel Huffman, Olive Norcross, Maggie Norcross, and Ellis Norcross; siblings, Ann Corbin and husband, Stephen, Jane Crummett Spradlin, and Gary Norcross and husband, John VanDooren; mother-in-law, Betty V. Kelso; brother-in-law, Bruce W. Kelso and wife, Tanya; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, with Pastor Jim Cooper officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be David Norcross, Matt Miller, Craig Imler, Bruce Kelso, Gary Norcross, Stephen Corbin, Kenny Althouse, Robert Carter, and Brandon Corbin.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
