Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Crowe

Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Reese Fried Crowe, 73, of Raphine, wife of Evan Crowe and daughter of the late Jim Wilson and Kathleen Wilson Hileman, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. She was affectionately known as “Betsy” or ”Beth” Betsy was a faithful Christian all her life serving in many ministries and enjoyed singing with the choir. She was a devoted and caring teacher in Hanover County for more than 30 years. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, caring for her animals, plants and reading scripture and poetry. Betsy was dedicated to her large family, including her brother, James M. Wilson, who preceded her in death, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her husband of 22 years, she is survived by her step children, David Fried of Eugene, OR, and Andrea Rowden and husband, Edward of Frisco, TX; step- grandchildren, Solstice, Emily and Sarah; nephew, Barry Wilson of Scottsville; niece, Carol Hall of Orange Park, FL; as well as numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, 6410 Lee Jackson Highway, Steeles Tavern, VA 24476 with Rev. Olivia Haney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, July 15, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.
