

Mary Arbutus Henderson, 89, of 1825 Howardsville Turnpike, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
She was born November 14, 1923 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Ashby and Lottie Painter Harris.
She was a graduate of Spottswood High School and a member of Sher-Lynd Baptist Church where she played the piano, where she was involved in homebound ministries.
She was a former employee of the 7-11 convenience store, H. K. Porter Copper Co., Whites Department Store and S & R TV Repair.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Junior Breeden, her second husband, Homer Henderson, two sisters, Sarah Doyle, Virginia Reade, granddaughter, Greta Lynn Breeden, and a step-son, Ricky Henderson.
Survivors include two sons; Rev. David “Billy” Breeden and wife Phyllis of Stuarts Draft, Richard “Ricky” Breeden of Lyndhurst, two daughters, Mary Ann Cowder of Waynesboro, Gaye Balsley of Stuarts Draft, as well as a number of grandchildren, Tina Schupp, Pamela Pleasants and husband Stacy, David Breeden and wife Jessica, John Morgan Sweet, Cindy Hebb, David Simmons, Justin Simmons, Richard Breeden and wife Heather, Stephen Breeden, Sherri Hammer, numerous great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 8, 2013 at Sherando United Methodist Church by Rev. Clayton Payne, Rev. David Breeden and Pastor Paul LaPrevotte.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Finley Campbell, Bobbie Harris, Dennis Sutton, Bernard Ratwick, Jerry Coffey, Jeff Almarode, Jason Almarode, and Monty Hall.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, and other times at the residence of her sons, Rev. David Breeden of 1825 Howardsville Turnpike, Stuarts Draft and Ricky Breeden of 32 Blackford Way, Lyndhurst.
