Mary Ellen Miller

Born February 25, 1938 in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Cecil Miller, Sr. and Madeline Laura (Sneed) Miller.

Prior to retirement, Mary was employed by the City of Staunton for 29 years where she first served as a police officer and later as a 911 dispatcher. She was instrumental in the development of the 911 center and took great pride in her work. Mary was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She greatly enjoyed spending time with family, playing bingo and poker, and crafting. She will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, and friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Lawhorn; and a brother, Robert Cecil Miller, Jr.

Survivors include her two sisters, Laura Ann (Miller) Beam and husband, Francis, of Stuarts Draft, and Jane (Miller) Sterrett of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft with Pastor Meredith Webb officiating.
