Mattie Ann Yoder

Mattie Ann Yoder, 98, of Stuarts Draft, VA went to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 21, 2011. She departed peacefully from the home of Salina and Ben Hershberger, where she stayed for over nine years. She was born on August 24, 1912 in Belleville, PA, and was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Yoder (deceased 1998).

She is survived by four siblings out of fourteen children: Lee Kanagy of Belleville, PA; Urie Kanagy of Hartville, Ohio; Amelia Kanagy of Mountain View Nursing Home in Aroda, VA and John T. Kanagy of Blackville, S.C.

In addition, she left behind one son and two daughters: Paul Yoder of La Junta, CO; Mrs. Salina (Ben) Hershberger of Stuarts Draft, VA; and Mrs. Esther (David) Stenson of Harrisonburg, VA. She had eight grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 23 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Christian Fellowship Church located at the intersection of Twin Hill Rd. and White Hill Rd. in Stuarts Draft, VA.

A funeral service will be conducted at the same location on Wednesday, August 24, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Stuarts Draft Amish Cemetery.
