Rebecca Joy Underwood

Rebecca Joy (Deshotel) Underwood, 55, of Stuarts Draft passed away Friday, April 22, 2016. Born Jun 13, 1960 in Kinder, LA, she was the daughter of the late Dorcenus and Bertha Deshotel. Rebecca was a member of Springdale Mennonite Church, Waynesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Ray Underwood; one brother and two sisters. Survivors include her children, Dorcenus Daniel Underwood, Jacob Gregory Underwood and Martha Serenity Underwood; three brothers, Edward Joseph Deshotel and wife, Dorothy of New Iberia, LA, Lawrence Deshotel and Donald Deshotel of Kinder, LA; sister, Doretta Moorman and husband, James of Vidor, TX; as well as her special friend, Ramona Gordon. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Springdale Mennonite Church, Waynesboro. In lieu of flowers, Rebecca requested memorial contributions be made to Springdale Mennonite Church, 170 Hall School Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980 or the Augusta Health Foundation, c/o Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O.
