Born October 27, 1939 in Augusta County, he was the son of the late Russell and Fannie (Strickler) Hite.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Charles Hite.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Hite; children, Luther Hite and wife Cherri of Greenville, Mark Hite of Verona and April Hite of Greenville; grandson, C.J. Hite; siblings, Louise Slusher and husband Graydon of Middlebrook, Mary Cook and husband Cookie of Greenville, Dorothy Bowling and husband Roger of Greenville and Elmer Hite and wife Patsy of Staunton; special friend, Carl Winters.
Following his wishes, he will be cremated with no formal viewing or services.
