Samuel Douglas Cason

Samuel D. “Sammy” Cason, 72, died at his residence on Friday, February 9, 2018. Born October 20, 1945, he was the son of the late George Vernon and Frances I. Cason. He was a graduate of Riverheads High School and a Vietnam Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Jones. Survivors include his three brothers, Jim of Middlebrook, Larry Dale of Greenville and Tommy of Fishersville; two sisters, Joyce Rosen of Stuarts Draft and Louise Vecellio of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews. At Sammy’s request, there will be no formal services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
