
Anne Marie Lupien, formerly of North Port, Florida and Templeton, Massachusetts died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice in Wayland following a long illness. She was 75 and the wife of the late Francis X. Lupien, Born in Marlboro Sept. 4, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Peter P. Cottone Sr.,and Jeannette (Lemire) Cottone. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Peter J. Lupien and Zdenka Tot-Lupien of Westfield and her siblings; Carol Jolicoeur of Natick, Dr. Peter P. Cottone, Jr., of Natick, John S. Cottone of Hudson, Paul P. Cottone of Newton Highlands, and Maryalice C. Webb and her husband, Mark F. of Natick and her grandchildren, Catherine Lupien and Adriana Tot-Lupien. She was also the mother of the late Christine A. Lupien and sister of the late Paulette Cottone. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wed., Dec. 3, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, 44 East Central St., Natick. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment services will be private. Anne Marie graduated from St. Ann’s Academy in 1957 and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and General Science and Master’s degree in Science Education from Fitchburg State College. She worked as a science teacher at the high school level and at community college nursing and hospital programs. and was a field executive for the Montachusett Girl Scout Council. For many years, in both Massachusetts and Florida, she was a church organist and soloist.
While living in Massachusetts, she was a board member of the Red Cross, was a one-on-one swim instructor for disabled children for the Easter Seal Society and served on the local Conservation Commission. In Florida, she was a board member and grant writer for the Villas at Sabal Trace, where she resided, and was a Sarasota County Neighborhood Grant Initiative Advisory Committee member and a North Port Chorale historian,.a North Port Performing Arts Association usher; a North Port Community Health Action Team Health Services Committee member. and Coordinator of North Port Healthcare Celebration. She was a Team Member of the North Port Community Emergency Response.
She had lived in Wayland for the past five months.. .
