

.Anthony Louis Cellucci of Sudbury passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Emerson Hospital in Concord following a brief illness.. He was 89 and the husband of the late Gloria (Abate) Cellucci. Born in Brighton, Massachusetts where he was raised and educated, he was the son of the late Donato and Antoinette (Malizia) Cellucci. After high school Tony joined the United States Navy and served in World War II. He married in 1951 and moved to Sudbury. He was devoted to his family and built his own home. A founding member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, he was among those who laid the cornerstone of the church and part of a group who raised the funds to retire the debt of the new church in three years. A Past Grand Knight with the Sudbury Council # 5188 Knights of Columbus, he was also a 4th Degree Knight with the Bishop Cheverus Assembly # 389 in Boston. Tony was a Master Carpenter working in wood and was employed by the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in Brighton, retiring in 1980. He and his wife moved to Florida for 18 years; then later returned to Sudbury. He is survived by his daughter, Christina A. Maiuri of Bellingham; his son and daughter in law, Robert and Robin Cellucci of Westford and his grandchildren; Daniel Cellucci, and Sharon Smiley and her husband Dan. He was the father in law of the late Bruce Maiuri and the brother of the late Dominic, Mary, Geraldine, Louis, James and Joseph. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, from the Duckett-J.S Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd., Rt. 20, Sudbury at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Rd., Sudbury at 10:00 o’clock. Visitation at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be in New Town Cemetery, Sudbury.
