

Arrangements under the direction of Duckett Funeral Home ofClarence Edwin Mills, Jr., “Ted”, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at the Merriam Boyd Parlin Hospices Residence in Wayland. He was the son of the late Clarence Edwin Mills, Sr. and the late Marion Shaw Mills was raised and was raised and educated in Waltham, MA. Ted proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for 3 years after graduating from Waltham High School in 1956. In 1965, he graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Electrical Engineering during which he participated in a co-op program at Raytheon. This led into his life long career at the company. He finally retired from Raytheon in August 2011 as a principal engineer after 51 dedicated years.
He was the loving husband of Donna (Drake) Mills for 46 years and devoted father of his two children, Chuck and Dawn, and proud grandfather of Tyler and Alicia Mills, and Nathan and Grace Catalanotti. He is also survived by his brother Robert Mills and many cousins who he held dear.
Ted and Donna met each other in a youth group at the church they both attended with their families in Waltham, MA. After getting married, they eventually decided to live and raise their family in Sudbury, MA where they resided together for over 40 years. He faithfully attended Sudbury United Methodist Church where he was an active member and served in many capacities. He was a member of the church choir for 25+ years, served on the board of trustees, was a Sunday school teacher and youth advisor for several years, and did much more behind the scenes.
Ted was a caring and compassionate man who left a lasting impression on everyone who encountered him. He died at Wayside Hospice surrounded by his loving family after a difficult battle with lung cancer.

A gathering in celebration of the life of Ted Mill will be held Friday, Oct 14, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd., Rt. 20, Sudbury. Memorial services will bell be conducted Sunday, Oct. 16, at 3:00 o’clock at Sudbury United Methodist Church, 251 Old Sudbury Rd., Rt.27, Sudbury,MA 01776
