Richard Witkin of Sudbury, formerly of Harrison, NY, died Thursday November 7, he was 95 and the beloved husband of the late Kate (Friedlich) Witkin. Born in New York City, Richard was a son of the late Isaac and Miriam (Newman) Witkin. Mr. Witkin served his country in the Army Air Corps, and was a WWII Veteran. He was a Harvard graduate, and a Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist with The New York Times. Richard was the devoted father of Thomas A. Witkin and his wife Michele MacDonald of Sudbury and Gordon Witkin and his wife Stacy Ettinger of Bethesda, MD; loving grandfather of Taylor M. and Zachary M. Witkin of Sudbury and Nathan E. and Aaron E. Witkin of Bethesda, MD. He is also survived by his brother William I. Witkin and his wife Joan of Chappaqua, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service is being planned, and will be held at a later date in New York.
