

Anna Claire (Ann) Requa of Suffern, NY passed away on Friday. June 26, 2015 at the age of 85. Ann was born on May 1, 1930 to Peter and Clara (Tanis) Leystra in West New York, NJ. She was a member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church in New Jersey for over 60 years. Ann held a well-established Bible study in her home for many years. She was a accomplished artist and attended art schools in both New York City and Ridgewood, NJ. She was an expert seamstress and homemaker. She had a great interest in genealogy of the Requa family and wrote a news letter. She gave College scholarships awarded by the Monsey Rotary Club. Ann was active in the Stony Point Chapter of the SAR and a contributor to the Rockland and Tarrytown Historical Societies. She was member of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association.
Ann is survived by her beloved children Lynne Everson (Rusty) and Robert G. Requa, caring sister in law Rinah Copeland Requa, nephew Daniel Copeland, cherished cousin Helen Collins, and many other cousins. Ann was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Requa in 1993, and her brother in law Glode M. Requa in 2012.
Ann was a sweet and precious woman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 5-8PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59 in Suffern, NY. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, 10AM also at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home with burial to follow at Brick Church Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
