Edward R Hecker Jr.

Hecker, Edward R. Jr. (“Eddie”) of Chestnut Ridge, NY, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 68, surrounded by his family. Born September 4, 1956, in Bronx, NY, Eddie was the beloved son of Edward and Mary Ellen Hecker.

Eddie was a proud and dedicated Journeyman Electrician with Local Union #3 IBEW in New York City, where he worked for over 40 years. Known for his steadfast work ethic and commitment to his trade, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends across the industry.

Eddie is survived by his loving sons, Eddie (wife Alina) and Chris (fiancé Sarah); and their mother and his former wife, Connie. He is also survived by his cherished siblings, Richie Hecker, Jean O’Connor (husband John), Thomas Hecker, and James Hecker (wife Susan); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Ellen Hecker.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Eddie found great joy in playing softball, fishing and coaching his sons in little league and CYO, where he mentored many young athletes with humor, patience and unwavering support.

Eddie will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, his sense of humor and the pride he took in both his work and the lives of his sons.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 4-8 pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 4th. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
