Eileen L. Horton

January 17, 1954 – July 8, 2025

Eileen L. Horton, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born in the Bronx, NY, and raised in Suffern, Eileen graduated from Suffern High School and spent her life grounded in community, love, and family.

Fiercely devoted and full of life, Eileen was a constant presence in the lives of so many. She was a dedicated sports mom to her four children and a second mom to countless others. Known for her generosity, warmth and boisterous laugh, she created a home that welcomed everyone, often referred to as the “Horton Hotel.”

Though she attended Sacred Heart School and was a member of the parish, Eileen’s truest devotion was to the people around her - offering support, love, and her signature sense of humor to anyone in need.

She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Horton of Suffern, NY. She is survived by her mother, Eileen Mack of Suffern, NY, and her siblings:Bill and Annie Mack (Punta Gorda, FL),Scott and Elaine Mack (Mahwah, NJ),Rob Mack (Suffern, NY),Tami and Jim Hynes (Blauvelt, NY),

Eileen’s legacy lives on in her children:Jimmy and Rosana Horton, and their sons Jack, Jase, and Joey (Newburgh, NY),

Danny and Kristin Horton (Greenwood Lake, NY), Mark and Meredith Horton, and their children Kendra and Asher (Los Angeles, CA), Amanda and Jack Boyle (Hertford, NC).

Above all, Eileen cherished her role as “Nola” to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

A visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough on

Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Graveside services will take place on Monday, July 14, 2025

11:00 AM at Airmont Coptic Cemetery.

Eileen’s warmth, loyalty, and love left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Her memory will be held close by all whose lives she touched.
