Elisabetta Vano Alpegiani

ALPEGIANI, Elisabetta (Lisa) of Suffern, passed away peacefully at her home on 11/15/16. She was surrounded by her family and passed as a result of complications from a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She aged 78 years. Born in Roccasecca, Italy, to Gerardo and Angeline Vano (Chicarelli) she came to the United States when she was 13 years old with her mother and brother Carmine. She graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx. Then worked at IBM in New York until she married, her husband, Robert A. Alpegiani Sr. (deceased 08/30/02) at St. Lucy’s in the Bronx. She enjoyed her family tremendously and loved to cook, crochet and garden. She had am incredible passion for food. She worked at AVON in Suffern in the cafeteria while her children were in school. She is survived by her children: Robert Alpegiani Jr. (wife Paula), Lisa Clifford, Paula Buff, all of Suffern and Melissa Fogarty (husband Daniel) of Tomkins Cove. Adored by her grandchildren Kaitlyn Mix (her husband Kevin), Danielle Clifford, Thomas Clifford, Victoria Alpegiani, Laura Buff, Kristina Fogarty, Gianna Fogarty and Robert Fogarty. Loved by her siblings, Carmine Vano (wife Frances), Laura Carlone (husband Frank) both residing in California, Thomas Vano (wife Maureen) residing in Nevada. Here much loved Nieces and Nephews Peter Vano (wife Ginger), Christopher Vano, David Vano (wife Monai), Tina Carlone, Tania Carlone (husband Jason Rainey), Thomas Vano (wife Nicole), Michael Vano (wife Jennifer) as well as many Grand Nieces and Nephews. She treasured her Cousins, Marie LoMaglio (husband Carmine), Anna Rock (husband “Joe”), Lena Pinto, (husband “Lenny”), Roseanne DiFiore, (husband “Tom”) she was “Mama Lisa” to many as she was a nurturing, compassionate and loving woman.

Visitation Friday, November 18, 2106 2-4 & 7-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59 Suffern, NY. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 11/19/16 at 11am at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern followed by an Interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
