Born in Suffern, New York, Tina was the daughter of the late George W. and Natalie (née Austin) Gurnee. She graduated from Suffern High School in 1947, where she met her high school sweetheart, Edward Frankoski. The two were voted “Best Dancers” by their classmates and went on to marry in 1952. This year, they joyfully celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Tina worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Sandoz—now Novartis—in New York, and later at the Ryan Estate for Phelps Dodge. She was known for her exceptional shorthand and typing skills, which served her well throughout her career. After the birth of her son, Tina dedicated her time and talents to raising her children and caring for her family, including her mother and aunt. She was known for keeping a beautiful home.
Tina was a talented seamstress who made many beautiful dresses, especially for holidays. She also enjoyed knitting, and many of her creations are still lovingly worn by her family. A proud graduate of Suffern High, she remained involved as Secretary of the Suffern Alumni Association for many years.
Tina is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Frankoski; her children, Edward Jay Frankoski (Brit) and Lisa Spiech; grandchildren, Nicholas (Larissa) Frankoski, Sarah (Bryan) Yurka, Benjamin (Jamie) Frankoski, and Jeremy (Jennifer) Frankoski; step-grandson, Robert (Zoe) Sutton; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Lilianna, Kadyn, Kastyn, Abram, Nolan, Jocko, Lucas, and Autumn.
